ABOUT CAMP ELIM
Our Story, Mission & Ministry
For over 65 years, Camp Elim has been a welcoming place where people from all walks of life can connect, recharge, and grow. Owned and operated by the Baptist Churches of the Midcoast region, Camp Elim was established in 1959 to support the Church’s ministry. Our story began with the first Convention of the Mid North Coast Baptist Association, held at The Palms on the shores of Lake Wallace in March 1959. Since then, Camp Elim has flourished into a peaceful lakeside retreat on the shores of Wallis Lake.
Today, we welcome Christian groups, public schools, holidaymakers, and non-religious groups, offering a space where everyone feels at home. Whether guests are exploring faith, reconnecting with nature, or enjoying a family holiday, Camp Elim provides an inclusive environment for all.
Our Mission
At Camp Elim, our mission is to provide a lakeside space where individuals, families, and groups can experience community, fun, and personal growth in a Christ-centred environment. We aim to share the life-changing message of Jesus through relationships, recreational activities, and meaningful conversations.
Getaway Camp & Ministry
For over 30 years, Camp Elim has partnered with the Lions Club to run Getaway Camp, a special outreach for disadvantaged children aged 10–13. Held each September, this program relies on sponsorship from the Lions Club, local churches, individuals, and Camp Elim itself.
Volunteers play a crucial role in running activities, teaching Bible-based life skills, and simply spending time with the kids. Looking ahead, we hope to expand our ministry to serve even more young people in our community.
